Austin native landscaping, designed for Central Texas ground

Native beds that look alive in August, drink a fraction of the water a lawn does, and hold up in caliche and clay. Designed around the soil and sun your property actually has.

How the project runs

  1. Step 1

    Site and soil walk

We read sun, drainage and soil depth on the property, then photograph every bed area before anything is priced.

  2. Step 2

    Planting plan and fixed quote

You get a plan with plant names, counts, spacing and a firm price, so nothing changes once the crew arrives.

  3. Step 3

    Soil work first

Turf and roots come out, compost and shale go in. The soil is the part that decides whether the planting survives its first summer.

  4. Step 4

    Install and mulch

Plants go in at mature spacing, edging is set, and beds are mulched three inches deep.

  5. Step 5

    Establishment season

We check the beds during the first establishment season and adjust watering or replace any plant that fails.

Common questions

What does native landscaping cost in Austin?

Most native bed installations run $14 to $19 per square foot, and full front yard conversions run $18 to $25 per square foot with turf removal included. Our minimum project is $1,200.

Will native plants really use less water?

Once established, most of our native plantings hold up on one watering day a week, which is what Austin restrictions allow anyway.

How long until it fills in?

We plant at mature spacing, so beds look intentional right away and close in over one to two growing seasons.

Do you replace plants that die?

Yes. Anything that fails during the first establishment season is replaced at no charge.
