What this means, in plain words

If we get to show up at 50 homes, that's roughly $25,000 in city fines a family never has to worry about, and about $35,000 worth of yard care given freely. No bill, no repayment, no strings.

Along the way, around 1,000,000 people see a neighbor being cared for, and about 250 plants and garden beds start growing again.

These are gentle estimates based on past yards, not a scorecard. Every number here is really just one thing: a neighbor who didn't have to face it alone.

How this estimate is calculated

We multiply the number of neighbors by simple per-home averages we've seen across past yard reboots in Austin and Travis County:

  • $500 per home, typical city code fines a family avoids once the yard is back in good shape.
  • $700 per home, what comparable mowing, cleanup, and garden work would normally cost, given at no charge.
  • 20,000 views per story , the average reach when we share a neighbor's reboot, with their permission.
  • 5 plants or beds per yard , new plantings and garden beds restored during a typical visit.

Real yards vary, and that's okay, some need a single afternoon, others need a few weekends. We share these averages so nothing feels like a black box.
