Your mission impact
Storytelling that generates digital ad revenue and brand sponsorships, funding more free yard rescues for seniors and veterans.
The split week
Full-Time or Part-Time. Field shoots on Friday community transformation days plus in-studio editing.
About the role
Yard Reboot Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity in Austin that funds free yard restoration for seniors, disabled veterans, and homebound neighbors by running a paid commercial landscape business. The transformations are extraordinary and almost nobody sees them. That is the problem you are here to solve.
As Digital Media & Transformation Content Producer you own the camera, the edit, and the publishing calendar. You film the Friday community relief builds and the commercial installations, cut them into episodes and short-form verticals, and publish across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and our site. Your work does two jobs at once: it recruits donors and paying clients, and it documents the housing insecurity that puts these homeowners at risk in the first place.
You will have unusual creative latitude and unusually high standards to meet. Every homeowner is filmed with explicit written consent and treated with dignity - we tell restoration stories, never poverty spectacle. If you can hold a story together and you want your reel to mean something, this is a rare seat.
Why take this job
Full creative ownership of a real, ongoing documentary series with a built-in emotional engine - and a direct line from your audience growth to how many neighbors we can rescue next quarter.
A day in this role
- Tuesday - Pre-production: storyboard the week's build, confirm homeowner consent, prep batteries, cards, audio, and drone.
- Wednesday - Commercial shoot day: capture install b-roll, client testimonial, and process detail for a paid-services piece.
- Friday - Full-day relief build coverage: before walk-through, crew work, homeowner interview, and the reveal.
- Monday - Edit block: assemble the long-form episode, cut three to five verticals, color, sound mix, captions.
- Ongoing - Publish, write titles and descriptions with search intent in mind, respond to comments, and report on what performed.
- Monthly - Deliver a photo and clip library to the development team for grant applications and donor updates.
What you will do
- Capture 4K field footage, high-fidelity location audio, and emotional homeowner interviews.
- Edit weekly long-form YouTube episodes and short-form reels optimized for retention.
- Produce seamless sponsor integrations and equipment featurettes.
- Optimize video titles, thumbnails, and descriptions for maximum organic click-through.

- Company camera body, lenses, gimbal, wireless lav audio, and drone.
- Adobe Creative Cloud license and cloud media storage.
